This year we ran SHINE Summer Camps in Lucan and Dorchester. The Dorchester Cummer Camp was lead by one of our amazing volunteers, Kaitlyn Schultz. Here’s what she had to say about camp:
What a privilege it’s been to have been a part of SHINEGirl once again this summer! In Dorchester we had a bunch of girls join us, all bringing special and unique qualities to the group. The girls started off very quiet and reserved but very quickly they were making great conversation, creating dances, and laughing with one another. Although at the end of the last day these girls were sad to say goodbye, they definitely left empowered and ready to use the knowledge and skills that the SHINEGirl program equipped them with. It is very fulfilling to see young girls confident in themselves, empowering others, and not letting anything take away their SHINE.
